Brianne’s Story

Brianne 198653 web

She and her partners desperately wanted to build a personal injury and workers’ compensation firm that focused more on taking care of its clients and devoting extensive time and attention to each case.

She admittedly is a legal nerd and perfectionist and can now properly work up each case, and spend as much time with each of her clients as she desires, in order to achieve even better results for her clients than she was able to do while working for former employers. Her firm is built on integrity, kindness, laughter, happiness, hard and diligent work, and Brianne’s goal is to get her clients back to the Colorado athletic and outdoor activities that Colorado folks crave and count on to survive and thrive. After all, nothing is more important than spending time with family, friends, participating in activities we love, and making memories. These passions are highly affected when you are injured. Your life gets turned upside down. Brianne understands this all too well, having experienced back and other injuries herself. You can count on Brianne and her team to be your compass, as they will guide you back to health and happiness.

If you are looking for a firm that cares much less about making money and more about getting its clients back on that mountain, contact Brianne. Brianne and her team will get you back to being a Coloradan again.

Brianne joined her former Colorado firm, The Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya in 2009, upon graduating from The University of Denver College of Law, and immediately began her litigation career. While associated with The Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya, she tried jury trials, handled hundreds of mediations and depositions, negotiated countless six-figure and seven-figure settlements for clients, and pursued her clients’ rights to receive compensation for their medical bills, lost wages, and the pain and suffering they have endured. Brianne created the personal injury litigation department there and was the head of the Litigation Department for over 8 years. She also spent several years at the Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya practicing workers’ compensation.

Brianne 218662 web 1As a lifelong athlete and former aerobics instructor, Brianne has always been particularly drawn to personal injury because of its capacity to improve upon the general health and well-being of her clients. In college, her first major was exercise physiology, and she has carried the passion of proper body function as a route to emotional and spiritual health with her ever since. Uniquely dedicated to the science and medicine behind her clients’ injuries, Brianne advocates for complete health in order to help her clients get back to what they love.

She was first drawn to law because of her keen interest with the criminal justice system and crime investigation. Growing up, she wanted to be a criminal lawyer. In pursuit of that goal, she graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2001 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. However, her perspective changed, as she became an adult and found that she was much better suited for civil law. While attending law school, Brianne spent three years as a Law Clerk and Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal for one of Denver’s largest personal injury firms. She fell in love with civil litigation and personal injury law and chose to make it her career.

Brianne was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. She can maneuver this big city and her big city opponents like a champ; however, she’ll always be a small-town girl, with small town values to the core. When not advocating for her clients, Brianne enjoys Pilates, spin & barre classes, hiking and snow shoeing in Colorado’s arduous mountains, camping, exercising, watching the Wyoming Cowboys and Denver Broncos, attending country music concerts, cruising throughout Colorado in her Jeep, spending time with her family, meeting new people, and traveling. She is also passionate about running her law firm and connecting with her wonderful clients. Brianne and her husband, Corey, share their home in Wheat Ridge with the most amazing human on the planet – their son.

Q & A to Brianne:

1. What sets you apart?

Brianne Falgien Personal Injury Attorney and Workers' Compensation and son
Although I have been doing personal injury litigation since 2006, I also handle cases from the beginning at FWI Legal. That is a benefit because I can spot issues and address them in the pre-litigation phase of the case and prevent them from becoming issues that the insurance company will question and force into litigation. This helps me resolve issues in a timely fashion. It is a huge benefit to the client that I have both pre-litigation and litigation experience and that I will be on your case the entire time. Keep in mind that many cases can be resolved without litigation and I can help you achieve that by utilizing my extensive litigation knowledge and problem-solving skills. I also tap into my psychology background often and use my awareness of my clients’values, beliefs, and desires to understand what they truly want as their outcome. I love that I have the tools, drive, thoughtfulness, and knowledge to help them reach that outcome.

2. You mentioned you have been doing litigation work since 2006, why is litigation important to you?

Litigation allows me to pursue the claim further to achieve a desired result for my clients. When the insurance company denies liability, or makes an insufficient offer to compensate my clients’ damages, litigation is the vehicle I can use to show I disagree with my opponents’ evaluations and opinions –to take the case further for my clients –to achieve results –to seek justice. I’m so grateful I have the experience and knowledge to take the case further, if the case needs to go there.

3. What is the most rewarding part of your career?

Meeting clients and alleviating the stress and anxiety they are experiencing when they are injured and don’t know what to do. Being their guide through the process, removing that burden from them, and making it so they can focus on their real lives and families brings me pure joy. I also love the creativity involved in being an attorney—every case is a different challenge. I am never bored in my career. I love the sense of accomplishment I feel when I help clients through a difficult problem, situation, or issue.

4. What are your other interests in addition to law?

My son and my husband are my life! We love doing activities together such as hiking, jeep riding, swimming, going out to restaurants, and any other Colorado outdoorsy activity! You can read my blog titled Law and Babies on this website to get more information on my experience with motherhood and the practice of law.

5. What legal groups are you involved in?

I am a part of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, which keeps me highly educated on all new rules, laws, and statutes that affect your case! I am also a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, Colorado Women Trial Lawyers Network, and The National Trial Lawyers Organization. I’m licensed to practice in both state and federal court.
